New Brunswick Winter

Just a few short weeks ago people were trouble by the unseasonable warm temperatures and now they can't stop talking about the cold. I thought this poem I received in my inbox was cute and said it all...

                                                  New Brunswick Winter

When it's winter time in New Brunswick ,
And the gentle breezes blow,
About seventy miles an hour,
And it's fifty-two below.

You can tell you're in New Brunswick,
Cause the snow's up to your butt,
And you take a breath of Winter air,
And your nose holes both freeze shut.

The weather here is wonderful,
So I guess I'll hang around,
I could NEVER leave New Brunswick,
My feet are frozen to the ground!

Snoop candy update

To update on the Snoop Dogg concert, someone called me to say that it was real candy in the ol' dogs bag of tricks he throwing out to the audience. But the audience still went nuts for it so what was in that candy anyway...hmmmm. I guess no one will ever know for sure except the lucky fans who got to sample it at the concert.

Snoop Dogg and his bags of *candy*

I've been to many concerts in my time but none with so many security checkpoints. When all was said and done I thought I was going to visit the queen. Then as an after thought I heard myself say, "this boy must have big enemies!"

We waited in the entrance at the Moncton Coliseum and they led us through a small door down a hall, downstairs to wait in a crowded line up with police and their dogs scanning the whole area, sniffing out people for drugs. We were then scanned and frisked for weapons.

On we went to another line to get into the upstairs area that leads us to the canteen area with various vendors selling memorbelia. My son bought a Snoop Dogg tee shirt comemorating his Blue Carpet Tour.

My hats off to Ice Cube for a great high energy performance getting the crowd pumped for the main act. It was his first visit to the Moncton area and he promised to come back again soon to keep his fans happy. I heard comments after the show from people that would like to see him in one of our outdoor concerts we have at the Magnetic Hill concert site.

Apparently there was some controversy surrounding the concert with concerns over gang violence. I never heard about it myself but it seemed to strike a bone of contention with the performers. Snoop Dog's rendition of F*@# The Police told the crowd exactly how he felt on the tight security making sure there was none of his favorite smoke brought in by fans to enjoy during the performance. In what seemed like an act of defiance during a song entitled "Candy", Snoop Dog threw bags of his favorite smoke to the delighted fans standing close enough to reach it. He made alot of die hard fans in that one gesture alone. I am not a big fan of that type of music nor do I smoke but I admire the gonads it takes to pull that one off.

After the show one would expect to be frisked but the place cleared out fairly quickly with very little commotion meeting police cruisers at every exit for crowd control. Snoop Dogg made a grand exit on the last stop of his Blue Carpet Tour and fans of every marijuana smoker in the area!
