Clearing up left over New Year's Resolutions

I want to write and make my mark on the world. Getting past the blocks so the words flow effortlessly is the challenge. Life gives us obstacles that can be compared to a writers block. How do we over come these blocks? A writer will do mind exercises to increase their creativity, waiting for that divine inspiration to hit.

We can approach obstacles with our own mind exercises. To start, use meditation, sitting quietly waiting for a thought or words to give the answers to overcome what is in our way. Or we can also use a journal to pour our emotions into. This is a great way to self analyze, going back over our daily logs weeks later to see what patterns and motivations are actually doing us more harm than good. Then we can make plans and create new positive habits to correct this.

Here is a great exercise for those who failed to reach their New Year's resolutions this year.

Take each failed resolution and write down your feelings toward each one. Include the why's, why it affects you, why you need to overcome this at this time. Write down the how's, how you feel about this, how it affects you, how better off you will be. Write the what's, what you are doing to move toward your goal, what you will do if you don't reach it, what will it do to you.

Now see the patterns that are keeping you from moving toward your goals. See any motivations that are keeping you from reaching that resolution...

This can unlock unconscious blocks, motivations, and feelings that you did not realize was there. It can also bring back memories that have long been buried. When this happens it is your unconscious blocks coming to the surface. Observe your feelings on this, write them down, let them go, and move on.

I hope this helps your approach to a solution for all those resolutions and close out 2008 on a healthier more successful note.

    Beating the Hunger Crisis

I just signed a petition asking G8 leaders and the UN Secretary General to commit to providing the food, seed, and fertilizer necessary to help some of the world's poorest countries beat the ongoing hunger crisis.

We've seen aid achieve some amazing things in recent years - like over 29 million more children in school for the first time, and over 2 million more Africans with access to AIDS medications. But we must recognize the ongoing hunger crisis for the obstacle that it is and work to overcome it if we hope to continue our success.

So go back to that snack or hot meal and don't give these hungry men, women, and children another thought...
